Ed Ksenych did his graduate work in social theory at York University and has been a professor at George Brown College for over twenty-five years. He teaches various courses in sociology and philosophy, but especially enjoys introducing students to the excitement of sociological inquiry. He has
won the Board of Governors' Award of Excellence in Teaching and the Community Services and Health Sciences Divisional Teaching Award at George Brown College, as well as the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Teaching Excellence Award, University of Texas at Austin.
In addition to his published works, he has written and presented various papers regarding college education that reflect his ongoing interest in classical and contemporary approaches to pedagogy and curriculum development as well as his skepticism over current commercial trends in education. He is
currently involved in setting up an international student exchange project for Canadian and American students in which each group learns about the others' country.
