Sylvia Sits down with TVO’s Allan Gregg to discuss why women's progress in politics seems stalled in this country
15 May 2009
In the last American presidential election, women were in the front ranks -- Sarah Palin was John McCain's running mate, Hilary Clinton fought Barack Obama for the nomination and now she is Secretary of State. But can you name one woman at the forefront of Canadian politics? In a new book, Sylvia Bashevkin looks at why women's progress in politics seems stalled in this country. She is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. Her book is called Women, Power, Politics: the Hidden Story of Canada's Unfinished Democracy.
