Shelley Rempel is a professor in the social service worker program at Mohawk College. She holds a doctorate in education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, and has previously taught at McMaster University. For more than a decade she served as a researcher, community worker, and later executive director of Housing Help Centre for Hamilton. She has written extensively for government, community agencies, journals, and newspapers on the topics of disability, housing, homelessness, and poverty.
