In this concluding unit, students will research, read and discuss urban legends from a variety of cultures and countries. Students will participate in a variety of popular reading activities such as shared reading, guided reading, and literature circles. They will then play a group game to
prepare them to write their own urban legend by discussing with group members the different elements of the genre.
Final task: students will assume different publishing roles to compile the urban legends written by the class into a magazine or e-zine. The final task is a celebration
of what they have accomplished as they discuss and respond to the urban legend magazine in a literature circle.
The workbooks support the core activities, and provide opportunities for students to practise lan guage. Also included are additional complementary activities and a
comprehensive French-English Lexique for student reference. Also includes the Mini-guide section reproduced in the back of the workbook.
