This unit serves as an introduction to the various creative ways of reusing and recycling objects. This is a "hands-on" unit that will develop and motivate students to become activists in making decisions that will affect them and the environment now and in the future. Students will be able to
use their experience and previous knowledge in order to categorize junkyard objects as either household or industrial waste. Students will also become familiar with some forces of movement and complete various activities givng them ideas on how to create an invention.
Final Task:
Students work in small groups to create an invention using recycled materials and present a model or an accompanying diagram to the class.
The workbooks support the core activities, and provide opportunities for students to practise language. Also included are additional complementary
activities and a comprehensive French-English Lexique for student reference. Also includes the Mini-guide section reproduced in the back of the workbook.
